Hi everyone! Long time no email!

I’m sure it seemed like we fell off the face of the earth but what a crazy summer we’ve had! We’ve got a lot to tell you….

We are so excited to announce that our brand new project, “Life Goes On” is HERE! We’ve told you before about our Talley Tree-O website and the subscribers of the site have helped co-produce the recording by offering their opinions and suggestions for every aspect of the process. We’re very proud of the end result and we hope you’ll agree when you get your copy (hint hint!). You’ll also hear the title track, “Life Goes On,” playing on the radio very soon. The new CD is available on our official site, www.talleytrio.com.

We just returned from the National Quartet Convention two weeks ago in Louisville, Kentucky. We sang three times on the main stage and debuted several of our new songs. We were also involved in Phil Cross’s Songs For A Lifetime Songwriters’ Showcase on Friday, where we performed “His Life For Mine.” Writer Rebecca Peck introduced the song and shared the story of how she wrote the song in her husband’s pickup truck! The Singing News Fan Awards moved from Thursday to Saturday this year and I was honored to be a co-host for the evening along with Gerald Wolfe and several other ladies in gospel music. We had a great week (exhausting, but good nonetheless).

We have seen God do some amazing things in the last few months and He has made Himself so real. Not long ago we were part of a concert promoted by WFCA in French Camp, Mississippi. That evening we heard probably 20 stories/testimonies, including a lady who introduced herself as being from the Academy in that town. She explained that the Academy was a school/home for children from very difficult circumstances. This lady told us that she had brought an entire dorm of girls from the home to the concert that night. We were already so overwhelmed just from hearing these incredible stories even before we took the stage, that while Brian Free and Assurance sang right before us, Mom and I just sat down in the back to collect ourselves for a moment. As we sat and listened to them sing, a young lady tapped my mom on the shoulder.

With tears streaming down her face, she introduced herself and told us her very young age. She told us that she had just come to live at the Academy and asked us if we were going to sing “Orphans of God” that night. We told her we could if she wanted to hear it. She replied, “Well, the girls in my dorm sing that song. It really means a lot to me because my mom and dad left me.”

We hugged her and assured her that we would sing it for them. Later that evening, as I began the first verse of the song, approximately 20 teenage girls left their seats, quietly made their way to the side of the stage, and stood there, holding hands, crying, and singing their song. The audience was visibly very moved and when the invitation was given, many hands raised in response. God did an incredible work that night.

It would seem that moments like that are rare, but maybe we just don’t pay close enough attention. God is waiting to show us so much about our lives and about Himself, but we have to be willing to listen.

We hope to see you on the road (and hear your story) very soon.
