Happy New Year!
Hopefully this finds everyone ready to embrace all the possibilities a
new year brings. I was thinking about what changes 2008 brought to my life and I am so thankful for how God is working. He has truly done
great things.
Just to quickly catch you up…..
We were honored to celebrate our ninth number one song, “That’s
Enough,” which reached the top position on the Singing News chart in
December. The song is featured on our “Stages” recording as a tribute
to and collaboration with one of our heroes, Jake Hess. He was a
special friend to us and we hope this song honors him.
We enjoyed our second tour to Norway in November, this time with a
posse in tow known as the Booth Brothers. Both groups were part of a special weekend event in Stavanger, Norway called “Singing In the
City.” You can read all about our trip in my diary posted at
www.talleytree-o.com.
Speaking of which, if you haven’t already subscribed to the Tree, we
want you to join us! The online community of the Talley Trio,
affectionately known as www.talleytree-o.com, is growing rapidly and
we are always offering new things on the site. We have a prayer thread where you can read and post prayer requests from all over the world and many are taking great comfort in sharing their hearts with a
worldwide prayer network. We have contests, fun video clips, surveys
and stories for your enjoyment and participation…it’s just a great
way for us all to get to know each other. Many subscribers of the Tree are forming friendships and we invite you to join in on the fun! Just go to www.talleytree-o.com and click SUBSCRIBE.
We also have a couple of fun things coming up that you’re invited to……
Before long, Singing In The Sun 2009 will be here. April 22-25, the
Convention Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina will host the finest
talent in gospel music including your co-hosts the Talley Trio, the
Hoppers, the Whisnants, Ivan Parker, the Greenes, the Booth Brothers, the Triumphant Quartet, Gold City, and many others. Some of America’s top speakers will also be bringing messages each night during the concert event. We are especially excited to feature Dr. David Jeremiah this year for the first time. Make your vacation plans now by calling 1-888-238-6858 or by logging onto www.abrahamproductions.net.
But one vacation a year just isn’t enough for someone who works as
hard as you do.
Next fall, we’ll be taking a cruise up the coast of New England and
Canada. October 3-10, we’ll be sailing on a brand-new Royal Caribbean cruise ship and enjoying some of the most beautiful scenery in North America. The cruise is scheduled for the peak of the fall foliage season in New England. The ship departs from Boston and docks in the port cities of Rockland, Maine; Bar Harbor, Maine; Halifax, Nova Scotia and St. John, New Brunswick. We’ll be doing concerts on the ship along with our friends Shiloh, a Texas trio with smooth, easy
harmony, and we’ll all laugh our heads off at Tim Lovelace, who will
be emceeing the concerts and providing comedy.
Imagine a week of great music, great food, beautiful autumn scenery-
doesn’t that sound like fun? We have 500 spaces reserved on the ship
at a fixed price to avoid fuel surcharges. Once those places are
filled, the price will go up. So the sooner you can make your plans,
the more assured you will be of the best rate. If you want to go with
us, just log onto www.talleytrio.com and you’ll find all the
information you need. My mother says it’s worth it for the clam
chowder in Bar Harbor alone.
We look forward to seeing you on the road very soon!
