Hi everyone!
Hope this finds you well and ready for the holidays! As soon as they clear the pumpkins and costumes out of Walmart, up go the Christmas trees…..time passes way too fast.
We’re in the middle of our busiest time of year. Just last night we sang for a Veterans’ Day celebration in our hometown of Morristown, Tennessee. I met Congressman Phil Roe and we all enjoyed honoring over 2000 local veterans who have done so much to secure our freedom. I also need to thank Mr. Kapoor, the local Chick-fil-A franchise owner, for the coupons- I personally try to keep his store in business in sweet tea purchases alone
I am so excited to tell you that my first book and fourth solo album, both titled Songs In The Night, will be debuted in March 2010! The book comes from the most difficult time of my life and details what the Lord taught me from that experience. I share personal stories, the things God led me to study in Scripture and I also detail how God brought me out of that valley. This book was written for hurting people and anyone who wants to develop a closer walk with God and I hope it speaks to you in a special way. The recording (the first produced by yours truly) features ten songs all hand-picked to correlate to my writings and the songs truly describe my spiritual journey. Musically and lyrically I feel it’s my strongest collection yet and I can’t wait for you to hear it! Of course, you’ll hear more details as time gets closer. I also am about to launch a new website which you will hear more about very soon!
Speaking of websites, if you haven’t clicked on www.talleytree-o.com yet, you’re missing out on a lot of fun! The Talley Tree-O, our online community, is the place where you can have an ongoing conversation with us and with other Talley fans. It’s also where you can see hilarious videos taken from the road, see interviews, participate in contests, share prayer requests and testimonies, and be involved in a worldwide network of Christians and gospel music lovers. Subscribers to the Talley Tree-O also enjoy special events and privileges throughout the year. We recently hosted our first Tree-O gathering at the National Quartet Convention. This was the first opportunity many of us had to place faces with screen names and it was great to meet so many of our faithful supporters. Come join us and be part of our family Tree! Do you Twitter? We do! You can follow us everywhere at www.twitter.com/TalleyTrio. Also look me up on Facebook!
On our official website, www.talleytrio.com, we’re holding a Christmas drawing for some big giveaways! The winner will receive a Christmas prize pack from the Talley Trio, featuring CDs, tickets to special events, and many other great prizes. If you’re reading this email, you’re already entered. Winner will be notified by email on December 15.
We recently enjoyed a cruise to New England and Canada with our friends Shiloh and Tim Lovelace. With that combination, seriousness never lasts too long.
We and the Shiloh guys did our best to ensure we had the loudest table in the dining room. We also made several new friends on the ship that week. I enjoyed an opportunity to meet a crew member from Argentina, Marcus, who loves gospel music but doesn’t get to hear it much. We made sure he got some new CDs to listen to….it’s amazing to think of how far across our world the gospel travels. Speaking of Shiloh, my dad, Roger, is currently producing their new Christmas album. During their three days of vocal sessions, we invited them up for dinner one night and let me tell you, those boys can eat. If you’re on Facebook, go look up my profile or Shiloh’s profile to see a special video of the Talleys “paying homage” to Brian White’s very, uh, distinct laugh.
We had such enormous response to our Crystal Caribbean Cruise in March that we’re going on another one in November 2010! The November cruise will go to Key West, Florida; Freeport, Bahamas and Nassau, Bahamas. You’ll also enjoy music from the Talley Trio, the Hoppers, the Greenes, Ivan Parker, the Whisnants and the Pfeifers, as well as Bible studies every day on the ship. You’ll visit 3 ports and be able to participate in as many (or as little) shipboard activities as you want. It’s your vacation- do what you want to do. And here’s the best part: it’s only $799 per person! Brochures aren’t even printed yet, so if you’re interested, reply back to this email and tell us you want to go with us, and we’ll send you all the information you need to get signed up.
Ok, I’m not trying to get political here, but this has been weighing very heavy on my heart for some time now. Folks, this world is a desperate place, and I think we could all agree that we are living in very uncertain times. Here in America we are at a crucial point in our country’s future. I will not try to tell you what to think or what positions to take, nor will I subject you to my own opinions. But I do feel a strong need to pray. We desperately need God’s guidance, direction and protection, and I ask that you would pray for this world as well. The prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective, and I believe the most powerful thing a Christian can do is seek the face of the Lord.
It is truly a privilege to spread this message wherever we go. Please continue to pray for us- we couldn’t do it without you! See you on the road soon.
