Hi everyone!
I love springtime- for me it means not having to wear a coat anymore, McDonald’s ice cream cones on a hot day, and my allergies going crazy. Well ok, that last one isn’t fun, but spring also brings some of our favorite events. We’ve had a really busy month so there’s lots to catch you up on.
We have just filmed a 2-hour TV special with the Wilmington Celebration Choir for the Inspiration Network, which will be called “A Night Of Worship.” The program will air on INSP June 12. We were also honored to spend Sunday, May 2, at First Baptist Atlanta with Dr. Charles Stanley. We sang several songs in the morning services and “The Broken Ones” will be specially featured after Dr. Stanley’s message on Mother’s Day- next Sunday, May 9. So tune into “In Touch” for some familiar faces! Check your local provider’s listings for both programs’ airtimes. Remember, set your DVRs for May 9 and June 12.
The very same evening, we were part of the “Song Of A Lifetime” event at First Baptist Atlanta hosted by our pal, songwriter Phil Cross. “High and Lifted Up/Hallelujah Chorus,” “The Broken Ones,” and “The Healer” will be included on the “Song Of A Lifetime” DVD due out this fall. A few weeks ago we were part of the most successful “Singing In The Sun” ever! We’ve been talking for months about how great it was going to be and we were not disappointed. We saw 28 people come to know the Lord that week! Throughout the week we got to hear some of the greatest speaking and preaching in America from Dr. David Jeremiah, Pastor Jim Cymbala, and Governor Mike Huckabee, who snapped along with us on “He’s A Personal Savior” and later announced during his speech that he was a prospective member of the Talley Trio.

Mom and I participated in the Ladies’ Conference at Singing In The Sun on Saturday along with Connie and Kim Hopper, TaRanda Greene, Sheri Easter and Karen Peck Gooch. We’re going to do the same type of event on Labor Day weekend in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, aka the Gatlinburg Gathering. You can find info at www.talleytrio.com.
There was such enormous response to our March and November cruises this year (which both sold out) that we’re happy to announce another cruise scheduled for March 2011! Mom and I have both just begun online courses through www.talleytree-o.com and www.laurentalleyonline.com. My mom is teaching “The Confidence Class,” a 4-week study into how the devil’s lies and our thoughts shape our lives and how we can learn who we are in Christ. I have just begun the “Songs In The Night Power Study,” an 8-week, in-depth discussion of the book. We are talking about how to respond to painful events in life and how, through the power of God at work in us, we can go on to live victorious Christian lives. The discussions have REALLY been interesting and we can already see God changing lives. We hope you’ll join us for future study groups!
